Goblin Defence - Level 6
Goblin Defence belongs in a category of games called Tower Defence. You, as the leader, get to place your defenders in strategic locations to fight off the goblin hoards. As the game progresses you get to make your defenders stronger. But, the goblins come in greater variety and numbers. The strategy comes in deciding who to upgrade when and where to place them.
The action starts out tamely enough, reaching a crescendo on level 30. Then a new goblin makes a debut that requires a complete change in tactics. Managing three stars becomes difficult as you may need to make sacrifices to survive. Keep units with the most health on the front-line and reserve field promotions for when they are getting low in health. Use spells to protect the weak points.
The first level has only one path and only one type of defender. The tutorial will guide you. Enjoy the easy victory. Note that the goblin drops her purse. Tap it to pick it up. The more coins you pick up, the more quickly you will be able to airlift more defenders to help or supplies to upgrade existing living defenders. Look at the defender selection icon at the bottom. Note the 40 gold pieces needed to get help. The symbol brightens when you can act.
Make very sure you have all paths covered. Oversee the health of your heroes. If they die during a wave of goblins, there may not be time to replace them. Double-click coins as they are dropped to help new defenders to arrive more quickly. Use the spell books to help protect defenders who otherwise may be overwhelmed. Don't wait for a more powerful defender if a path is at risk.
As the game progresses, you will get more defender types and more spellbooks. A critical part of the strategy is choosing which defender, where and when. It is very easy in the heat of battle to leave a path undefended. If this happens, there is little time to correct the error. If a level appears impossible then perhaps you need to back off and train your defenders before continuing.
Can you spot the mistake? It is early in the game, and we need to cover all paths. At this point, we have a limited number of defenders available. Because soldiers have only swords, they will always take damage. In this position, death is inevitable. Not only that but you will also be pulling resources needed on other paths. Leave space in front for bombs or a fresh defender when you can spare one.
